Our clients, avid champagne enthusiasts, wanted a way to protect and display their collection. They had an under-stair space, previously concealed behind a wall, and envisioned a feature that would be visible and captivating from the dining room. We installed a thermal viewing window to prevent condensation, which is particularly important in compact areas. Despite the space constraints, we managed to integrate a climate control system, carefully concealing the unit to preserve the cellar's visual appeal. The use of natural western red cedar racking complemented the home’s light, airy finishes, merging functionality with elegance. We maximized every inch of available space, incorporating horizontal bottle racks powder-coated white on the remaining walls where traditional neck-out racks couldn’t fit. This design accommodated approximately 300 bottles of champagne.
